Homeownership

Iechia London, a mother of six children, lived in EBRPHA’s Kelly Terrace community for more than ten years. A new door opened for her one day while working at Exxon when a staff member asked if she might be interested in working toward getting a home of her own through Habitat for Humanity. With Exxon as her sponsor, she volunteered with Exxon employees to build the new house from the ground up. She personally put in 265 hours on the home’s construction. After more than two years, Iechia and her children cut the ribbon and moved into the newly constructed 4-bedroom home. “I am so grateful to Exxon, my sponsor, and to Habitat.” Her message to others and to her children: Never Give Up and Finish What You Start. We believe Iechia has achieved a giant step to a great life through home ownership.

We would love to thank the partnership and outstanding help of LHC for their constant help!
