East Baton Rouge Parish Housing Authority (EBRPHA) is partnering with the East Baton Rouge Parish School System to provide tech tools for virtual learning for the families of 700 children who lack digital devices and access or have limited access to internet connections necessary for on-line learning. EBRPHA employees conducted a door-to-door campaign to assess device and broadband needs. EBR Schools worked closely with EBRPHA and allowed Housing Authority officials to receive Chromebooks, tablets and hotspots and distribute them to its residents to assure efficient delivery and address transportation challenges.
